Original App: See "Notes". What follows is a summary of her world of origin, species, and personality.
Kiziah's world has a very similar history to our own, only with three sentient species instead of one. Olia and Humans are the dominant species, and Katzu are a very rare tertiary species. One of the major differences in the world is that large swaths of Africa are the dominion of the Katzu, and they rarely ever leave the Katzu Territories. The Katzu are a nomadic species, following the monsters and wild herds that roam the Territories. While each Clan has a general range they don't fight when two Clans cross paths, rather that's a time for celebration, fun, and lots and lots of attempts to breed.
Kiziah was born in 1775, a time when the Katzu did not allow Olia or Humans to live in the Territories due to the ability of those species to out-breed the Katzu. Katzu have a very hard time getting and staying pregnant, evolution's solution to the problem of peak predators out-breeding their prey.
The Katzu culture includes a large focus on genetics (although they don't know that word/science and go purely by observation over centuries) and family lines. People with good memories are prized for their ability to keep track of people's marriages and children in order to avoid accidental inbreeding.
Marriage is a matter of life-partners rather than children, a couple might attempt to breed with many other people during the course of their relationship. No stigma is ever attached to the marriage status of a child's parents, children are considered a gift under any circumstances. Breeding across clans is encouraged. The child of two clans would be adopted into whichever parent's clan it showed the most characteristics of, however that child would be discouraged from looking for children in their other parent's clan when they came of age to breed themselves. Many young adults deliberately seek out other clans for several years in an attempt to get pregnant or impregnate others before settling down with someone for a lifetime. Intra-clan breeding was never seen as shameful but families that did not seek external blood every few generations would be looked at askance due to the risk of inbreeding. There are Olia/Katzu crosses, however Katzu and Human are not able to have children. Olia/Katzu crosses are usually not fertile, but are treated like little miracles anyway. When they are fertile they are encouraged to spread their bloodline as far as possible, being considered a blessing.
Children are the focus of Katzu life. It's an instinct of the species that any adult, except the clinically insane, would without hesitation, question, or even pause for thought throw themselves between a child of any sentient species and danger. Some would even do so for non-sentient creatures, if the instinct is strong enough.
The Katzu language is one of clicks and harsh syllables, very few rounded sounds are used due to the shape of the Katzu tongue. It has much in common with the human Khoisan language families of South Africa.
Kiziah herself was born in 1775, a year before the foundation of the United States of America. Not that she had any real clue about that country for most of her life, she is a simple Katzu hunter. She didn't have a high position in her Clan, and didn't really want one. At time of application to Maison she was fifty-nine years old, with a potential lifespan of two hundred. So she's quite a young woman, really, and in no hurry to settle down. Ki is also very much a non-monogamous bisexual.
Kiziah comes from one of the more common Clans, Dahnil, which tends to be more populous than others because they tend towards multiple births. They also tend to be the tallest Clan, at 6'6" Kiziah is counted a little on the short side, although she's dead average for the species. She is the youngest child of her parents, with two much older brothers; a trader and a weaver. She's very, very fond of her family and her Clan. Kiziah likes people in general, although she is quite shy when it comes to strangers...unless those strangers are children. Even for Katzu, Kiziah has a maternal streak a mile wide. Give her access to a child and she will care for them even at the expense of her own health and safety.
She's a little speciesist, with a simple kind of assumption as to the superiority of Katzu. This is because in general they are taller, stronger, and faster than Olia or baseline Humans. They see better in the dark, less well in bright light. They do not get ill, but do have to aestivate (the summer version of hibernate) once a year. They are stronger against heat, but weaker to cold. Most of the medication that other species use will kill a Katzu, rather like they will a cat. Katzu are, in fact, an evolved feline; their closest living relatives are Fossa. (Olia are evolved lemurs, in Kiziah's world most sentient life came from Madagascar.)
Kiziah is a simple creature when you come down to it. She's easy going, likes to laugh, and genuinely likes people once she gets past her initial shyness. She's straight forward and doesn't care for what she terms "weasel words". She's also quite pragmatic, feeling that in a dangerous situation someone suicidal should be allowed to self-select out of the pool of people needing protection. Sure every life is important, but forcing someone to live when they want to die makes everyone more vulnerable.

Game Summary: Maison de Portes was a horror game set in a connected micro-world (probably) of three connected "houses" on an island floating in the air. I don't know what the main plot was because nobody really knew what the main plot was, it was dribbled out in bits and pieces that were probably supposed to encourage people to tag around and attempt to collect information, but when I was playing there were so many characters and pieces up in the air that it was very, very difficult to figure anything out at all. What I knew: People were brought from many different worlds and dumped into "the house" which was full of monsters, ghosts, dangerous other characters, gods, so on and so forth. If I sound frustrated it's because while I had a lot of fun there it was very frustrating and I spent a lot of time feeling like I was an audience rather than a participant.
Kiziah spent her time trying to keep people safe from monsters, taking care of children, and hunting monsters. Sometimes just to clear them out, sometimes to eat them, sometimes to protect people from them, and sometimes because she was so frustrated that she needed to hunt or have a breakdown. She did collect herself a couple of lovers, and spent plenty of time with Giotto and Don in a much more pleasant way, as well as helping Giotto ride herd on his collection of teenagers. Mostly by deciding the kids needed to be trained, and then doing so. Enthusiastically.
How long was your character in Game: Night 13-Day 25, September 6 2012-August 25 2013. Almost a year. If allowed, however, I would prefer to take her from Night 18, before she adopted Tyler, unless we can have him be hand-waved to be somewhere safe, because she'd be unplayable if her child wasn't in a safe place.
History of Character in their Game:
Kiziah showed up and immediately met up with a child which didn't settle her much, but did show her ability to put everything on hold for the sake of children. She spoke with a couple of people, but generally didn't put herself forwards much. One of the people she met was Sif, and there was an amusing little side-note on the nature of gods. Specifically Kiziah considers them "a figment of a race's collective imagination". So that'll be fun with Zephyr. She had commentary with someone regarding the nature of home, which left her depressed but resolute: this wasn't home and she wasn't going to pretend it was anything other than captivity.
One of the first people that she met was Giotto who became one of the most important people in the game to her, as well as a lover. She found out that the houses had mysteriously lost all their food, and offered to hunt monsters to feed Giotto's people because "give her a group to take care of and she'll be dealing much better". She got a good rundown of what she was facing, as far as the monsters, ghosts, and places to avoid.
Night 14 she met Ichigo's Hollow and the two engaged in some loathe at first sight. They fought, and probably would have killed each other if Kiziah hadn't managed to get herself patched up and leave. This did become a problem later, but 7 was able to keep her safe enough.
Day 15 she met a couple of kids and determined to figure out cooking for humans, since there were mostly humans around and kids shouldn't have to scramble for food if an adult was around. She also met a future hunting partner and deeply enjoyed talking with another him even if he was a hunter of a different sort. While carving bone knives to give to unarmed people (and jewelry for something to do with smaller pieces) Kiziah also met another hunter of monsters and began a lasting friendship that saved her life down the road. Another encounter with Hawkeye had her teaching him how to make bone knives and them planning a hunt together.
Night 15 Kiziah Healed, to the best of her very minimal ability a young woman she'd talked with once before, and continued to be baffled by her slang. It was also very annoying, because everyone had (for some reason) lost their names. Nicknames could be remembered, but not actual names. She met up with 7 again and 7 attempted to explain sound and light waves. It went about as well as can be expected for a nomad from the early 1800's. Tired of monsters she hoped that the white peacock was non-sentient, but alas he was quite sentient. Also quite aggravating. Later that night, however, she found herself at a Dumb Supper and gorged on food as best one can when shoved into a corset. She also attempted to give someone a chance to escape it, but found her strength easily outmatched by the creatures guarding the supper. After the supper she was still in her corset, and while in many continuities many people helped her out of it the most notable one was Don, who became her second lover there, and once the corset was off they enjoyed quite a few pleasant hours.
Night 16 she ran into a couple of people while looking for a place to hide out during the two weeks of aestivation where she'd be unable to wake up. She also greeted Sirius Black and found herself feeling quite a lot of pity for him, although she didn't let that show. She had her second encounter with an artificially created person and briefly helped him along his quest to find his brother.
Night 17 Kiziah awoke from her coma, and went berserk due to a combination of hunger from the coma, and hunger from a status effect that was affecting most of the people in the house. Later she met a Bucky Barnes so that'll be interesting. She met up with Sirius again and they promised to spend time together (in a platonic sense) just to deal with some of the loneliness of the house. After all, one can only handle so much survival mode without going crazy, it's important to have people to just bloody well talk to.
Night 18 she got to see a baby and it melted her a little bit. She also agreed to be backup for the man protecting the baby, because she is Katzu and it was a baby. The most important thing that happened on Night 18 is that she encountered the boy she'd learn was named Tyler. It was a short encounter, but led to her eventually adopting him as her own.
Day 19 she helped Tsuna with Giotto, met Ken and decided he needed a teacher and she was by the elements going to be that teacher. She met Mukuro in the same thread, and expressed the sentiment that anyone who deliberately hurts a child ought to die. This was not hyperbole.
Night 19 she helped Coraline with finding a very important object, tossing herself into yet another dangerous situation for the sake of a child. She also met a version of Khemrys so that a will also be interesting, Khem helped to heal Tyler, with Kiziah running for the supplies that Khem needed. She then got Tyler out of the room he'd been in and took him somewhere to heal. By this point she was exceedingly emotionally invested in the poor, tortured child.
Night 20 Tyler was taken by some of the things in the house, and once Kiziah got him back she took him to a safe room where she could watch over him. Even her child, though, couldn't keep her from her other self-imposed duties, so she met Steve Rodgers while wandering around looking for the people she'd met and needed to protect.
Day 21 she asked a (probably) benevolent NPC for help for Tyler and got a potion that changed him enough he couldn't be messed with anymore. It did make it so he'd never be human again, but Kiziah was never human and so didn't care. She allowed Tyler, however, to make the decision to take it for himself. Personal choice is a big thing for her. She also met yet another child which both made her happy because she loves children, and made her angry because children didn't deserve to be in the house.
Night 21 Kiziah acquired another student, acknowledging that she was going to have to go and find other people to help her figure out how to train this one. He wasn't nearly as Katzu-like as Ken. She spoke with Eve again and gave her a lecture on staying safe. Tyler chose to take the potion, which relieved Kiziah more than she'd let on.
Day 22 was spent mostly building endurance in her students. Also random other Reborn characters who were in the wrong place at the wrong time and got swept up in the running. She checked in with Coraline when that girl found her, and let her know where Kiziah and the other children she protected were staying. She also met up with Hawke and warned her about many of the dangers of the house, getting the human woman on board with Kiziah's plan to find a way to kill the things that hurt Tyler.
Night 22 she gathered as many of the children as she could find together, for safety's sake. During her gathering of children she got Steve Rodgers to agree to help with Tyler, who was listed in an NPC post as "pending" in a list of the dead.
I was on hiatus for Day and Night 23.
Day 24 Kiziah got Tyler back, with an addition of puppies that appeared to be made out of glass.
Night 24 Kiziah and Tyler got banged up pretty severely and went to find Khemrys. She met a werewolf.
Day 25 she met another child.
How did they change from their canon personality wise (Please explain what caused it to happen?)
For the most part Kiziah is still Kiziah. She's somewhat more twitchy than she used to be, and rather less speciesist, although some of that lingers. She's learned to work in groups a lot more than she did when she was a lone Hunter ranging out from her Clan, because in the house it paid to be part of at least one group. She's less shy than she used to be due to needing to make friends and allies quickly in order to keep herself, the children, and the other people around as safe as possible.
How did they change from their canon physically (Please explain what caused it to happen?):
Aside from more scars than she used to have, she hasn't. There were no big physical changes to occur to her.
Powers:
An eensy bit of magic, enough to light a small fire, speed healing up by a couple of days, and so on. She's stronger, faster, and more flexible than an ordinary human. She's also more durable than an ordinary human, it's very very difficult to break her bones and takes somewhat more effort to damage her skin and muscles.
Possessions:
• One spear, iron tipped
• A truly remarkable number of bone knives sized for human hands instead of her own - she gave them away regularly.
• Carving tools
• Bone jewelry, intricate and lovely
• Many, many layers of clothing, most of which has been modified to fit her height and broad shoulders and hips.

She's learned to work in groups a lot more than she did when she was a lone Hunter ranging out from her Clan, because in the house it paid to be part of at least one group. She's less shy than she used to be due to needing to make friends and allies quickly in order to keep herself, the children, and the other people around as safe as possible.
How did they change from their canon physically (Please explain what caused it to happen?):
Aside from more scars than she used to have, she hasn't. There were no big physical changes to occur to her.
Powers:
An eensy bit of magic, enough to light a small fire, speed healing up by a couple of days, and so on. She's stronger, faster, and more flexible than an ordinary human. She's also more durable than an ordinary human, it's very very difficult to break her bones and takes somewhat more effort to damage her skin and muscles.
Possessions:
• One spear, iron tipped
• A truly remarkable number of bone knives sized for human hands instead of her own - she gave them away regularly.
• Carving tools
• Bone jewelry, intricate and lovely
• Many, many layers of clothing, most of which has been modified to fit her height and broad shoulders and hips.
